Specialty Silicone Products (SSP) headlined the inaugural edition of The GASette, the newsletter for The Gasket & Seals Show. Dominic Testo, SSP’s Business Development Manager, answered questions about our products, capabilities, and successes for The GASette’s July edition. The Gasket & Seals Show is scheduled for March 19 – 20, 2025 at the RAI Convention Center in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The event is co-located with Silicone Expo Europe, and SSP will exhibit in Stand 712.

Products
SSP makes specialized silicones, including materials that meet rigorous military, aerospace, and medical specifications. These elastomers are then fabricated into specialty gaskets for applications that range from aircraft and spacecraft to cell phones and GPS, automobiles and electric vehicles, and military communications and weapons systems. As Testo explained to The GASette, “the most advanced technology in the world would not work without seals and gaskets”.
Capabilities
SSP’s capabilities include an in-house testing laboratory at our Ballston Spa, New York (USA) manufacturing facility. As one of the few companies that provides a full certificate of analysis (COA) for each batch, we document the quality of our products and demonstrate that our spec-grade materials are truly compliant. SSP also submits product samples for testing by independent laboratories, companies that can also benefit by attending The Gasket & Seals Show next year.
Success Stories
Recently, SSP designed and manufactured a new material for a NASA project. This product combined shielding against electromagnetic interference (EMI) with a very low temperature rating and ASTM E595 low outgassing performance. SSP also makes EMI shielding silicones that protect the avionics systems aboard military and civilian aircraft. Seals and gaskets can be easy to overlook, but the solutions that SSP provides are anything but a simple commodity.
