SSP502F-60 is a 60-durometer fluorosilicone that’s filled with nickel-coated graphite particles. It’s electrically conductive and combines reliable environmental sealing with superior shielding against electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI). SSP502F-60 is dark gray in color, has a thermal stability range of –55° C to 200° C, and provides fuel and solvent resistance.
SSP502F-60 is ideal for thinner, lighter-weight solutions and has a typical shielding effectiveness of 113 dB at 20 MHz to 10 GHz (E-Field). A full third-party test report is available. The shielding performance levels for SSP502F-60 are comparable to silver-filled elastomers. Unlike silver-filled elastomers, however, this nickel-graphite fluorosilicone isn’t directly affected by fluctuating silver prices.
SSP502F-60 is supplied in the following form factors:
EMI gasket fabrication methods include compression molding and die cutting.
Compression deflection is a measurement of the force required to compress a material to a set amount. Testing for this SSP material was performed according to ASTM D75 Method A. Download the Compression Deflection Data for a chart with compressive stress [psi] vs. deflection [%].
EMI RFI silicones from Specialty Silicone Products have low minimum order quantities (MOQs) and short lead times. SSP sends certificates of analysis (COAs) that prove the quality of its materials and can also provide certificates of conformance (COC).
Catalyzed shielding materials are ready for press-cure molding and have a shelf life of six months. Uncatalyzed materials last as long as 1 to 2 years, and cold storage will extend shelf life.
