EMI RFI Conductive O-Rings made of Nickel-Aluminum Fluorosilicone

Specialty Silicone Products (SSP) makes conductive EMI RFI O-rings from nickel-aluminum fluorosilicone SSP2551. SSP extrudes the cords, makes the tooling, and uses a bonding method that reduces the risk of EMI leakage and eliminates the “hard spot” found in other conductive gaskets.

SSP2551 is a 72-durometer, nickel-aluminum fluorosilicone that’s been tested to MIL-DTL-83528. This EMI elastomer performs to 40 GHz and can be used for military electronics due to MIL-DTL-461F requirements, specifically Section 5.18 RE103, radiated emissions, antenna spurious and harmonic outputs (10 kHz to 40 GHz).

SSP2551 also provides galvanic corrosion resistance and is ideal for marine environments such as the decks of aircraft carriers, where flange gaskets are subjected to salt spray, jet fuel, de-icing fluids, exhaust fumes, and electromagnetic interference (EMI). Because it is a fluorosilicone, SSP2551 resists fuels and solvents.
