SSP502-40-V0 is a 40-durometer (Shore A), flame-retardant, electrically-conductive, low-outgassing silicone compound that is filled with nickel-coated-graphite particles for EMI RFI shielding. This lower-durometer silicone conforms to UL-94 V0 for flame resistance and has been tested to ASTM595 outgassing paramters both with and without conductive PSA applied.
Use SSP502-40-V0 instead of GS2100, a discontinued GORE® EMI Material. Applications include EMI gaskets for military and defense, aerospace, spaceflight, telecommunications, wireless infrastructure, automotive, mobile phones, GPS, portable computers, and handheld field testing equipment.
SSP502-40-V0 offers performance levels that are comparable to shielding silicones filled with silver-coated particles. This very conductive and flame retardant silicone from Specialty Silicone Products (SSP) has a typical shielding effectiveness of > 113 dB for the 20 MHz to 10 GHz band (E-field).
SSP502-40-V0 is tested to the parameters of UL-94 V0, a burn testing standard for materials used commonly in the enclosures, structural parts, and insulators found in consumer electronics. This particle-filled silicone from SSP is recommended for applications that require electrical conductivity, EMI shielding, and flame resistance.
SSP502-40-V0 shielding silicones are comparable to Parker Chomerics 6372 EMI material for conductive elastomer gaskets. As part of SSP’s 502 series, this nickel-coated graphite-filled elastomer enables thinner, smaller, and lighter weight EMI RFI solutions.
SSP502-40-V0 is supplied as sheet stock and continuous roll stock with or without conductive pressure sensitive adhesives (PSA). SSP502-40-V0 has been tested to ASTM595 outgassing parameters both with and without conductive PSA applied. For more information, see the Outgassing Report.

Compression deflection is a measurement of the force required to compress a material to a set amount. Testing for this SSP material was performed according to ASTM D75 Method A. Download the Compression Deflection Data for a chart with compressive stress [psi] vs. deflection [%].
