GORE GS2100 EMI shielding has been discontinued. Use SSP502-40-V0 for EMI gaskets instead.
SSP502-40-V0 is a 40-durometer (Shore A), flame-retardant EMI shielding silicone that is filled with nickel-coated-graphite particles and has a UL 94 V0 flame rating.
This moderately soft silicone elastomer has also been tested to ASTM E595 for low outgassing, both with and without a conductive pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) applied.
SSP502-40-V0 is supplied as sheet stock and continuous roll stock, and as fabricated parts.
Use SSP502-40-V0 instead of GS2100, a discontinued EMI gasket material from W.L. Gore that was approved for spaceflight and military applications.
Like GORE GS2100, SSP502-40 can be supplied in die-cut part forms or slit width rolls. Slit width material is ideal for manual peel-and-stick EMI gasket applications with a conductive PSA.
SSP502-40-V0 is also comparable to Parker Chomerics CHO-SEAL 6372, an EMI elastomer with a UL 94 V1 flame rating. However, SSP 502-40-V0 meets UL 94 V0, a more stringent flammability standard.
UL-94 V0 materials are commonly used in the enclosures, structural parts, and insulators. They are also used in automotive and aerospace applications.
SSP’s offset to GORE GS2100 supports thinner, smaller, and lighter-weight designs, including:
SSP502-40-V0 has a typical shielding effectiveness of > 113 dB for the 20 MHz to 10 GHz band (E-field). A third-party shielding report is available for download.
SSP502-40-V0 has been tested to ASTM595 outgassing parameters both with and without conductive PSA applied. For more information, see the Outgassing Report.
Compression deflection is a measurement of the force required to compress a material to a set amount. Testing for this SSP material was performed according to ASTM D75 Method A. Download the Compression Deflection Data for a chart with compressive stress [psi] vs. deflection [%].
