SSP550-45 is a 45-durometer (Shore A), electrically-conductive fluorosilicone compound that is filled with silver-plated aluminum particles and comparable to Parker Chomerics 1287 and 1298 EMI shielding materials for conductive elastomer gaskets.
SSP550-45 is supplied as fully-cured, conductive sheet stock or as ready-to-mold compounds. Catalyzed raw materials are available for press-cure molding and have a shelf life of six months. Uncatalyzed materials have an indefinite shelf life, but may require freshening after 1 to 2 years.
SSP550-45 is capable of 90 dB of plane wave shielding effectiveness at 10 GHz. This shielding elastomer has a continuous use temperature range of -55°C to +160°C and is resistant to solvents and jet fuels.
Compression deflection is a measurement of the force required to compress a material to a set amount. Testing for this SSP material was performed according to ASTM D75 Method A. Download the Compression Deflection Data for a chart with compressive stress [psi] vs. deflection [%].
Download the SSP550-45 data sheet for tensile strength, elongation percentage, compression set percentage, specific gravity, volume resistivity, and thermal stability range. Data was generated with a Varox catalyst system according to ASTM test methods and procedures. A third-party Shielding Report is also available.
