CHO-SEAL 1298 EMI Gasket Alternaive

Use SSP2486-70 instead of CHO-SEAL 1298. 

Replace Parker Chomerics’ CHO-SEAL 1298 with SSP2486-70 from Specialty Silicone Products (SSP).

SSP2486-70 is  a 70-durometer (Shore A) electrically-conductive fluorosilicone that’s filled with silver-plated aluminum particles that meets the requirements of MIL-DTL-83528 Type D and is QPL listed.

EMI Shielding Effectiveness

SSP2486-70  is capable of 90 dB of plane wave shielding effectiveness at 10 GHz, with a continuous use temperature range of -55°C to +160°C. It is also resistant to solvents and jet fuels.

MIL-DTL-83528C Type D (M83528 QPL Silicone) 

The U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Land has qualified SSP2486-70 under the current issue of MIL-DTL-83528 Type D as a result of successful qualification testing.

EMI Gasket Material

SSP2486-70 is supplied as fully-cured, conductive sheet stock or as ready-to-mold compounds. Catalyzed raw materials are available for press-cure molding and have a shelf life of six months. SSP2486-70 is tan or dark blue in color.

Replace CHO-SEAL 1298 or CHO-SEAL 1287

SSP2486-70 can be used instead of CHO-SEAL 1288 and CHO-SEAL 1287. CHO-SEAL®  is a registered trademark of Parker Chomerics. SSP also makes other CHOSEAL offsets.
