Silver-Aluminum Fluorosilicone EMI Gasket Material

SSP2486-70 is  a 70-durometer (Shore A) silver-aluminum fluorosilicone that meets the requirements of MIL-DTL-83528, Type D. This material is part of the Defense Logistics Agency’s Qualified Product List (QPL). SSP also makes other M83528 QPL certified EMI silicones.

CHO-SEAL 1287 and CHO-SEAL 1298 EMI Gaskets 

SSP2486-70 can be used instead of CHO-SEAL 1287 and CHO-SEAL 1298. SSP also makes other CHO-SEAL EMI gasket alternatives. SSP is a HEICO company. We make our own EMI elastomers and are not a Parker Chomerics distributor. CHO-SEAL®  is a registered trademark of Parker Chomerics. 

MIL-DTL-83528 Type D 

The U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Land has qualified SSP2486-70 under the MIL-DTL-83528 as a result of successful qualification testing.

EMI Shielding Effectiveness

SSP2486-70  is capable of 90 dB of plane wave shielding effectiveness at 10 GHz, with a continuous use temperature range of -55°C to +160°C. It is also resistant to solvents and jet fuels.

SSP2486-70 is supplied as fully-cured, conductive sheet stock or as ready-to-mold compounds. See our EMI Sheet Sizes and EMI Roll Sizes for more information. Catalyzed raw materials are available for press-cure molding and have a shelf life of six months.
