SSP makes EMI/RFI shielding elastomers, military and aerospace silicones, and other specialized materials and products. Many of our elastomers are independently tested, and we offer a full Certificate of Analysis (COA) with every batch. Gasket fabricators can choose sheets, rolls, extrusions, or ready-to-mold compounds with low minimum order quantities and short lead times.
EMI/RFI Shielding Elastomers
SSP’s EMI/RFI shielding elastomers include silver-aluminum and silver-copper filled products that are part of the M83528 Qualified Product List (QPL) from the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), which is part of the U.S. Department of Defense. These MIL-DTL-83528 Type A, B, C, D, and K elastomers represent offsets to Parker Chomerics CHO-SEAL® materials.
In addition to MIL-DTL-83528 QPL Certified materials, SSP makes flame retardant EMI shielding with UL 94 V0 flame ratings. These nickel-graphite filled silicones represent offsets to GORE GS100 and GORE GS5200, two discontinued EMI gasket materials from W.L. GORE®. SSP also makes EMI/RFI shielding silicones with other specialized properties, such as corrosion-resistance.
Military and Aerospace Silicones
Many of SSP’s electrically conductive silicones are used in defense and aerospace applications, but we also make non-conductive elastomers for these and other growing industries. For example, SSP’s A-A-59588 silicones include independently tested products that meet the full requirements of Class 3B for high flex-fatigue resistance.
SSP also makes AMS silicones for aerospace applications and MIL-DTL-25988 fluorosilicones for military use. In addition, our products include low outgassing, low temperature silicones with or without EMI shielding and flame resistance. These space-grade silicones meet ASTM E595 low outgassing requirements, a test standard that originated with NASA.
