EMI products that are made from electrically conductive elastomers provide environmental sealing and shielding against electromagnetic interference (EMI). Elastomers that use silicone as the base material also resist a wide range of temperatures. Elastomers that use fluorosilicone as the base material combine temperature resistance with resistance to solvents, fuels, and chemicals.
EMI O-rings are donut-shaped gaskets that combine environmental sealing with shielding against electromagnetic interference (EMI). These EMI gaskets are designed to fit groove and are crushed into place during installation. EMI O-rings can be compression molded, or they can be bonded from EMI extrusions using tooling SSP makes in-house.

SSP makes custom EMI gaskets and custom EMI O-rings, but we also produce standard EMI products in MIL-DTL-83528 slash sizes. The materials that we use are part of MIL-DTL-83528 QPL certified, which means that they’re part of the M83528 Qualified Product List (QPL) from the Defense Logistics Agency, which is part of the U.S. Department of Defense.
