Faces of SSP: Jillian Massetti and Karen Heidenstrom

Specialty Silicone Products (SSP) continues to grow as our Made in the USA manufacturing company meets increased demand and reaches new markets. Founded in 1989 by four former employees of GE Silicones, SSP now employs approximately 75 people at our facility in Ballston Spa, New York. Recently, SSP added three new members to our team.

Meet Jillian Massetti, Customer Account Coordinator, and Karen Heidenstrom, Account Manager.

Jillian Massetti, Customer Account Coordinator

As a Customer Account Coordinator, Jillian enters and confirms all incoming orders. She’s also responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing customers, and for providing support to the sales team. Before joining SSP, Jillian worked for Weill Corning Medical Center at New York Presbyterian Hospital for 5 years. She has an extensive background in customer service and marketing.

As Jill explains, “working with such a fantastic team” is her favorite part about her new job. “Everyone at SSP has been so welcoming and helpful throughout my first few month here,” she says. “I am also very excited to be learning something completely new.”

Karen Heidenstrom, Account Manager

As an Account Manager, Karen is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with SSP’s current Lab Products customers. She also works with potential new clients to understand their needs and determine how SSP can help. Before joining SSP, Karen worked for IBM in various capacities. In addition to negotiating and renewing contracts, she’s managed customer operations and a team of 50 marketing representatives and technical engineers in upstate New York.

“I like being part of a team that is concerned about each and every customer,” Karen says about her new job at SSP. “Every person here is important and interested in doing their best”, she adds. For customers, Karen observes, this means “meeting their ever-changing and individual needs” – a task she enjoys.
