Faces of SSP: Kevin Wickert

Specialty Silicone Products (SSP) is pleased to introduce Kevin Wickert as our new Sales and Marketing Manager. Kevin joined SSP on February 1st and is filling a position that has remained open since Adam Stiles, who is now our Chief Operating Officer (COO), was promoted to Vice President of Sales and Marketing in 2020. Prior to joining SSP, Kevin worked for several Fortune 100 companies and was a business owner during a 20+ year career that’s taken him from his native Syracuse, New York to Phoenix, Arizona to the Capital District.

Kevin is a graduate of Lemoyne College and holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, New York. He’s worked as a Senior Account Manager and Regional Manager for General Electric, a District Sales Manager for a business unit of SKF Group and was the Regional Sales Manager for the Northeastern United States for the WD-40 company. In addition to stints at Ford Motor Credit Company and Verizon Enterprise Solutions, Kevin has owned franchised businesses in food service and personal care.

As the Sales and Marketing Manager for SSP, Kevin works closely with Karen Heidenstrom, Senior Account Manager, on laboratory products; Dominic Testo, Business Development Manager, on industrial products; and Nichole Hotaling, SSP’s Customer Account Operations Manager. Kevin will also manage global and domestic accounts that Adam Stiles has retained since his 2020 promotion. Kevin has learned a lot about silicones already and enjoys working with customers who need a custom solution. “Silicones are fascinating,” he says, “and it’s fun to work from design to delivery when there’s not an existing product to meet a specific need.”

Next month, Kevin will attend the Pittcon Conference and Exhibition in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from March 18 to 22, 2023. Send him an email if you’d like to connect and expect to see him at many more tradeshows. Kevin is also looking forward to visiting customers as SSP strengthens what he describes as a “mature laboratory products business” and captures ever-greater market share with industrial products, especially EMI shielding for some of today’s most innovative technologies.
