EMI Shielding Silicone with Silver-Aluminum

SSP2368-65 is a 65-durometer (Shore A), electrically-conductive shielding silicone that’s filled with silver-plated aluminum particles and designed to meet MIL-DTL-83528 Type B requirements for elastomeric gaskets. This product is tan or dark blue in color and supplied as fully-cured, conductive sheet stock or as ready-to-mold compounds. 

CHO-SEAL 1285 Offset

SSP2368-65 can be used instead of CHO-SEAL 1285. CHO-SEAL®  is a registered trademark of Parker Chomerics. SSP also makes other CHOSEAL® offsets. SSP is not a Parker Chomerics distributor. We make our own EMI silicones at our Made in USA manufacturing facility and offer a Certificate of Analysis (COA) with every batch. 

MIL-DTL-83528 Type B

SSP2368-65 meets the requirements of the MIL-DTL-83528 Type B specification for a silver-plated aluminum-filled silicone that’s capable of 100 dB of plane wave shielding effectiveness at 10 GHz. This conductive shielding elastomer from Specialty Silicone Products has a thermal stability range of -60°C to +220°C.

QPL 83528 EMI Gasket Material

The U.S Department of Defense (DOD) Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Land and Maritime has qualified SSP2368-65 under the current issue of MIL-DTL-83528 as a result of successful qualification testing.

As part of Qualified Products List (QPL) 83528, SSP2368-65 is QPL listed and has manufacturer’s and government designations. For details, download the QPL notification of qualification.  

EMI Shielding Effectiveness

For this particle-filled silicone, typical shielding effectiveness measurements for the 20 MHz to 10 GHz frequency band (E-field) are > 114 dB.
