SSP550-70 PASSIVATED

70-DUROMETER FLUOROSILICONE WITH PASSIVATED SILVER-ALUMINUM PARTICLES

SSP550-70 Passivated is a 70-durometer (Shore A), electrically-conductive, shielding fluorosilicone that’s filled with passivated silver-plated aluminum particles. Passivation increases the corrosion resistance of these metal particles, which conduct electricity and provide EMI shielding.

MIL-DTL-83528 TYPE D

SSP550-70 Passivated is designed to meet the requirements of MIL-DTL-83528 Type D for a silver-plated, aluminum-filled fluorosilicone capable of 90 dB of plane wave shielding effectiveness at 10 GHz, with a continuous use temperature range of -55°C to +160°C, and resistant to solvents and jet fuels.

ASTM E595 Outgassing

Samples of SSP550-70 Passivated were submitted to an independent laboratory for Outgas Testing in accordance with ASTM E595. These samples include batches of material with and without pressure-sensitive adhesive. All samples met ASTM E595 outgas requirements.

MEDICAL DEVICES

Applications for SSP550-70 Passivated include medical devices, which must meet demanding QC requirements for EMI shielding and environmental sealing. This 70-durometer fluorosilicone from SSP is comparable to Chomerics Choseal 1298 and 1287 for conductive elastomeric gaskets.

CONDUCTIVE ELASTOMER GASKET MATERIALS

SSP550-70 Passivated is supplied as fully-cured, conductive sheet stock or as ready-to-mold compounds. Catalyzed raw materials are available for press-cure molding and have a shelf life of six months. Uncatalyzed materials have an indefinite shelf life, but may require freshening after 1 to 2 years.
