SSP502-40

Nickel-Graphite Silicone for EMI Gaskets

SSP502-40 is a 40-durometer silicone that’s filled with nickel-coated graphite particles. It’s soft, electrically conductive, environmentally resistant, and provides proven levels of shielding against electromagnetic interference (EMI). A third-party shielding report is available.

EMI Silicone with Silver-Like Conductivity

SSP502-40 provides EMI shielding and environmentally sealing in a cost-effective elastomer. This silver-less material offers performance levels that are comparable to traditional silver-filled silicones. SSP502-40 also supports thinner, smaller, and lighter-weight designs.

EMI Gasket Fabrication and EMI O-Rings

SSP502-40 is supplied as a ready-to-mold compound; fully-cured, conductive sheet stock; and as continuous rolls up to 15 inches wide. Depending on the form factor, EMI gasket fabrication methods include compression molding and die cutting. For EMI O-rings, fabricators can use either cold bonding or vulcanization.

Comparing EMI Gasketing

SSP’s EMI RFI silicones also have low minimum order quantities (MOQs) and short lead times. SSP sends certificates of analysis (COAs) that prove the quality of its materials and can also provide certificates of conformance (COC). Compare SSP502-40 to these Parker Chomerics materials: S6305, 6330, 6370, 6371, 6372, and 6308.

Catalyzed shielding materials are ready for press-cure molding and have a shelf life of six months. Uncatalyzed materials last as long as 1 to 2 years, and cold storage will extend shelf life.
